shop in newfoundland ~ part two

As the days get shorter and the air is cooler, I now cherish the bright and warm coastal weather I loved during my visit to Newfoundland in July.  I took you on a tour at Home on Water Street last week and today, I have one more shopping destination for you in St. John’s: SAM Design.

SAM Design is definitely your one-stop shopping destination for an inviting, stylish home.  The showroom houses a wide selection of quality furniture, statement accessories, practical kitchen essentials, and more from many of my beloved brands including Gus* Modern, EQ3, and Normann Copenhagen.

This foyer vignette of a pair of hanging seagrass woven baskets pairing with a sleek lacquered console accenturated by a simple, contemporary arrangement is the perfect way to welcome you home don’t you think?

Stepping into the dining room and I am loving the wood panelled wall and all the goodies on the shelves.

Here are some of my favourites:

1.  brightly colored letters for a playful mesage board

2.  chic pitcher, cups, and jars

3.  whimsical wooden birds reminding me of the seabirds from the east coast

4.  timeless hexagon carrara marble tray & the latest catalog from Gus* Modern

Speaking about Gus* Modern, I am madly in love with the new Margot sofa in gold velvet.  It has a classic tailored silhouette, ultra luxurious upholstery, and sexy feet in polished brass.  SAM Design picked a fabulous deep navy blue as backdrop to make the golden yellow shines.

Looking for inspiration to create a multi-functional meeting / lounging / causal dining space?  This sleek black and white vignette features mid-century iconic classics, the serene ginkgo wallpaper, and a large scale basket weave pendant to add warmth to the palette.

This is one of my favourite shots from my visit.  Love the charcoal grey wall with crisp white shelves and of course the lush fiddle leaf for a touch of nature.

Here is a welcoming and cozy bedroom I would love to wake up to everyday.  Simple, contemporary, and just the right dosage of masculine elements.

I love the mix of natural linen / cotton and how that punch of avocado green livens up the monochromatic color scheme.  As for the marble vases, they would have come home with me on the plane if they weren’t solidly heavy!

As for my must-have from this visit: these ingenious cup and platter sets.  Its simplistic design and superb execution had me at hello.  I could totally see myself enjoying a cup of tea and a delicious sandwich in bed or at the balcony!

Are you ready to shop? I would love to know what is your must-have from this tour of SAM Design.
