Can’t believe it’s already mid-septmeber and with temperature reaching almost 30C this week, I am ready to soak up as much warmth and sun as possible before the leaves turn color! Speaking about an extended patio season, I miss my summer vacation at Newfoundland and the delicious treats from French pastries to super fresh seafood.
St. Johns offers a fantastic variety of restaurants to satisfy all visitors and local newfies. From formal dining for special occasions to cozy meals for two, I have tried out a few celebrated hot spots in town. One of my all time favourites is Rocket Bakery & Fresh Food on Water Street.
I love the quaint decor and retro vibe of the cafe. From the giant rocket at the front window to a full wall of vintage treasures and colorful flag garlands, I love all the fresh and playful details at Rocket.
Located at the heart of the hip, trendy downtown core, The Rocket Bakery & Food is known as an inviting spot for light-hearted chats, an inspiring space to work, and a relaxing spot to enjoy a cup of gourmet coffee. Don’t you just love that huge wall tatoo for a touch of whimsy?
As for my “must-try“, I highly recommend the daily special sandwich (made with only the freshest ingredients), the delicious french toast, the addictive fish cake made with local cod fish, and the signature pull-pork turnover.
Thanks Kelly for an amazing time at Rocket Bakery & Fresh Food!
